Whiskey Cocktails that are Perfect for Fall

It’s whiskey season! These whiskey cocktails are perfect for fall. And the best part? Plenty of them only call for a few ingredients and some shaking over ice. Grab your favorite whiskey and get started. 

Maple Bourbon Spice

Ingredients: 

1.5 Bulleit bourbon

1 oz lemon juice

4 tsp maple syrup 

Pinch of ground cinnamon

Cinnamon stick 

Instructions:

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. 

Top with ingredients and shake. 

Strain into a glass and add a cinnamon stick for garnish. 

Cider Whiskey Smash

Ingredients: 

1 oz Redemption Rye Whiskey

½ oz lemon juice

4 oz apple cider

Apple slices and herbs for garnish

Instructions: 

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. 

Pour and garnish with apple slices as well as your favorite herbs (we recommend some thyme and/or rosemary!). 

Apple Cider Old Fashioned

Ingredients:

2 oz apple cider

Angostura bitters

Pinch of brown sugar

2 oz Michter’s Bourbon 

Orange slice, apple slice, and cinnamon stick for garnish

Instructions:

Combine apple juice, bitters, and sugar until sugar is well dissolved. 

Add ice and whiskey, and stir lightly. 

Garnish with orange slice, apple slice, and cinnamon stick.

Fall Spice Whiskey Sour

Ingredients:

2 oz Smooth Ambler Old Scout American Whiskey 

3 oz apple cider

Juice of 1 lemon

Pinch of pumpkin pie spice

Apple slice and rosemary sprig for garnish

Instructions: 

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice, and shake until well combined. 

Strain and pour over ice. 

Garnish with an apple slice and rosemary sprig. 

Autumn Whiskey Smash

Ingredients:

2 oz Bulleit Bourbon

¾ oz simple syrup

3 lemon wedges

4 mint leaves

Instructions:

Muddle the lemon and mint in a shaker. 

Add bourbon and simple syrup with ice. Shake until chilled. 

Strain into a glass over ice. 

Garnish with more mint.

Autumn Harvest Cider Mocktail

Ingredients:

3 cups lemonade

5 cups apple cider

1 cup orange juice

5 cups San Pellegrino (flavor of your choice!)

¼ cup maple syrup

Thyme sprigs

Apple, thinly sliced

Orange, thinly sliced

Directions: 

Mix together all ingredients besides sparkling water and mix. 

Cover and place in the refrigerator until chilled. 

Add sparkling water and mix. Serve over ice and garnish with thyme, an apple slice, and an orange slice. 

Seedlip Toddy

Ingredients:

1 ¾ oz Seedlip Grove 42

1 bar spoon coconut sugar

4 oz hot assam tea 

Ginger peel for garnish

Directions: 

Brew one tea bag of assam tea in boiling water for 2 minutes. 

Combine and enjoy!

Apple Ginger Spritz

Ingredients:

1-inch piece of fresh ginger

24 oz apple cider

8 oz ginger beer

Cinnamon sticks

Apple, thinly sliced

Thyme sprigs

Directions: 

Muddle the fresh ginger in the bottom of a shaker until fragrant. 

Add the cider to the jar and shake. 

Pour into desired glasses and top with cider and ginger beer. 

Garnish with apple slices, cinnamon stick, and thyme sprigs. 

Apple Cider Mock Sangria 

Ingredients:

2 apples, cut into cubes

1 orange, sliced

1 pomegranate, peeled

1 pear, cut into cubes

1 bottle (750 ml) apple cider

2 cups San Pellegrino

Cinnamon sticks 

Directions:

Add chopped fruits to a pitcher, saving some for garnish later. 

Add cider and sparkling water to pitcher and stir well to combine. 

Chill in the refrigerator as needed. 

Pour into serving glasses and garnish with remaining fruit and cinnamon sticks.

Football Tailgate Cocktails

Football season is back and we couldn’t be more excited! Whether you’re tailgating at the stadium or at home, we’ve got you covered with our favorite football tailgate cocktail recipes. Try ‘em out and let us know which ones are touchdowns in your book.

Boozy Sweet Tea - perfect for every SEC game

Ingredients:

Handful of whole cloves

5 cinnamon sticks

1 tsp allspice

1 bottle of Garrison Brothers Bourbon 

1 bottle of apple brandy

1 cup honey

3 cups sweet tea

Apple slices for garnish 

Directions:

Add cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice, and honey to a pot over medium heat. Simmer. 

Allow mixture to cool, then mix with the remaining ingredients. 

Pour over ice and garnish with apple slices.

Bloody Mary - for those earlier games 

Ingredients:

2 oz Ruskova Vodka

4 oz Siracha Bloody Mary mix

1/2 oz fresh Lemon Juice

1/4 tsp horseradish

Ice

Celery, olives, and a slice of bacon for garnish

Directions:

Mix ingredients together. 

Pour over ice and garnish as you please!

Beer-rita - to give your beer an extra “oomph” 

Ingredients: 

2 cups grapefruit juice

½ cup tequila

¼ cup agave nectar

Squeeze of one lime

¼ cup lime juice

2 12-oz bottles of Hi-Wire American Lager

Slices of lime and/or grapefruit for garnish

Directions:

Combine all ingredients. 

Mix well and serve over ice. 

Garnish with lime and/or grapefruit wedge. 

Spiked apple cider - warm up during the colder games

Ingredients:

6 cups apple cider

4 cups Huling Station Bourbon

12 dashes Angostura bitters

1 apple, thinly sliced

Thyme 

Handful of whole cloves

Cinnamon sticks to taste

Add honey to taste

Directions:

Combine cider, apple slices, thyme, cloves, honey, and cinnamon sticks in a pot over medium heat. Stir until well combined and warm. 

Let sit a few minutes to cool slightly. 

Add bourbon. 

Garnish with cinnamon sticks and thyme as desired.
